Planning to Transfer your Property before the Festive Season?
We all know that the last few months of the year can be extremely busy. It is therefore crucial to plan around the closure of businesses, the courts and the deeds office, to name a few.
The deeds office issued a notice to clients and conveyancers which sets out the dates that it will be closing and how the registration process over the festive season will be conducted.
In short, it is advised that all deeds and documents must be lodged before 11 December 2023 if it is required for the registration to take place before the end of the year. The deeds lodged before 11 December should be made available for prep by 19 December 2023, which means that registration can take place the following day.
All deeds and documents which are lodged after 19 December 2023 are not guaranteed to be made available for registration by the 21st of December 2023.
The deeds office will be closed from 10h00 on 22 December 2023 and only re-open on 2 January 2024.
